This privacy policy explains how FindMyHygiene (operated by CK Tripathi as an independent UK publisher) handles information about people who visit the site at findmyhygiene.co.uk.

Summary in plain English

  • We don’t require you to create an account or log in to use FindMyHygiene.
  • We don’t collect, sell, or share personal information about diners who just browse the site.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are popular. This sets cookies. You can opt out.
  • We run advertising via Google AdSense, which personalises ads using cookies. You can opt out.
  • If you email us (for example, to claim a restaurant listing), we keep that email until the conversation is resolved.
  • You have rights under UK GDPR. Contact us to exercise them.

Who we are

FindMyHygiene is operated by CK Tripathi as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR, the data controller is CK Tripathi, contactable at kaeltripton@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

Server logs. Our web host (Hostinger) automatically logs the IP address, browser, and page URL of every visit, for up to 30 days. This is standard practice and is used only for diagnosing errors and detecting abuse. We do not connect these logs to any other information about you.

Google Analytics. If enabled, this sets cookies to measure which pages are visited, for how long, and roughly where visitors come from. Analytics data is stored by Google and governed by Google’s privacy policy. We do not receive your IP address in an identifiable form — Google anonymises it on our behalf. You can opt out of Analytics by installing Google’s browser opt-out extension.

Google AdSense. Advertising on FindMyHygiene is served by Google AdSense, which may personalise ads based on your prior browsing. Google uses cookies to do this. Full details are in Google’s advertising privacy policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.

Emails you send us. When you email us to claim a listing, report an error, or make a business enquiry, we keep that email in our mailbox (Gmail) until the matter is resolved. We don’t share the content with third parties. We’ll delete the correspondence if you ask us to.

Restaurant owner details (paid listings only). If you claim a venue and pay the annual listing fee, we’ll hold the name, email, venue address and any photographs or content you supply. We use this only to maintain the listing. Payment is handled by Stripe under their privacy policy — we never see your card details.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your data to anyone.
  • We don’t share your data with third parties for their marketing.
  • We don’t build profiles about you.
  • We don’t track you across other websites.

Cookies

Cookies used on FindMyHygiene fall into three categories:

  1. Essential. A session cookie used if you log in to the admin area. Not set for ordinary visitors.
  2. Analytics. Google Analytics cookies, as described above. Opt out via the extension linked above or your browser’s cookie settings.
  3. Advertising. Google AdSense cookies. Opt out via Google Ads Settings.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Doing so won’t stop you using the site; only the analytics and ad personalisation will be affected.

How long we keep your information

  • Server logs: 30 days.
  • Google Analytics data: up to 14 months, held by Google.
  • Emails: until your matter is resolved, then up to 24 months in archive for audit purposes.
  • Paid-listing records: for the duration of the listing, plus 6 years for UK HMRC tax record-keeping requirements.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Ask what data we hold about you (subject access request)
  • Ask us to correct data that’s wrong
  • Ask us to delete data we no longer need to keep
  • Ask us to restrict what we do with your data
  • Object to our processing
  • Complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your request
