By using FindMyHygiene, you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.
Who we are
FindMyHygiene is an independent UK-based publisher of food hygiene rating data. We are operated by CK Tripathi as a sole trader. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the UK Food Standards Agency, any UK local authority, or any of the venues listed on this site.
The data on this site
Food hygiene ratings displayed on FindMyHygiene originate with the UK Food Standards Agency’s Food Hygiene Rating Scheme. The data is supplied under the Open Government Licence v3.0, which permits republication with attribution. The authoritative source is ratings.food.gov.uk.
We synchronise this data roughly every 24 hours. For any purpose where accuracy matters (for example, food-safety due diligence, journalism, or commercial decisions) please verify directly with the Food Standards Agency or the relevant local authority. We don’t guarantee the data here is current to the second.
See our Method page for more on how we source, filter, and update the data.
Rating disputes
If you operate a venue and believe your rating is incorrect, your recourse is with the Food Standards Agency and your local environmental health department, not with us. We display what they publish. If the Agency updates your rating, our site will reflect the change within 24 hours.
No warranty
We use reasonable care to keep FindMyHygiene accurate, current, and available, but we offer no warranty. The site and its content are provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for any loss arising from your use of the site, including decisions made based on ratings shown here.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Paid listings
Restaurant owners may claim and enhance their public listing for an annual fee of £99 (including VAT). The fee is locked for three years from the start of your first listing — no renewal increases. Payment is taken via Stripe at the time of claiming.
A paid listing lets the owner add photographs, menu links, booking links, and a public written response to the Food Standards Agency’s rating. It does not allow the owner to alter, hide, or suppress the rating itself. The rating is public information from a public body and is non-negotiable.
Refunds. If you change your mind within 30 days of claiming, email us at kaeltripton@gmail.com and we’ll cancel and refund in full. After 30 days the annual fee is non-refundable, though you can stop renewals at any time.
Content you submit. By uploading photographs, menu text, or other content to your listing, you confirm you own the rights to it, or have permission to use it. You grant FindMyHygiene a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display it on the site for the duration of your listing. You can request removal at any time.
Listing removal. We reserve the right to remove content or a listing if it breaches UK law, defames another party, misrepresents the venue, or damages the integrity of the site. Where possible we’ll notify you first and refund unused time on a pro-rata basis.
